Creative stimulation and psychomotor skills

In 2023 we started this project that understands psychomotor skills, creativity, art and cognitive stimulation as powerful tools to support the health potential of the person.
A project supported from the beginning by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Department of Equality, Social Policies and Human Resources, initially planned in cycles of 4 months and that, from January 2025, we carry out continuously, once a week.
Francesca De Bartolomeis, psychomotrician and expert in creative techniques mediated by the body (such as dance, bioenergetics, music, oceanic painting) and the artist Dori Alessio, creator of the Itrazos Method, will offer participants a therapeutic and wellbeing workshop.
Through creativity, drawing, dance, movement, music and creative cooking, brain neuroplasticity will be stimulated and the following benefits will be obtained:
- Encourages and supports socialisation;
- stimulates cognitive and motor aspects: memory, graphic representation, spatial and temporal orientation, executive skills, mathematical skills, attention, manual coordination, fine motor skills, vision, gestural precision, handwriting.
- helps to control and reduce states of anxiety, performance anxiety, stress, etc.
- improves personal autonomy
- values and helps to discover latent, damaged or new skills that will help them in everyday life, supporting self-assertiveness, self-determination and psychophysical autonomy
- increases self-confidence
