Adaptive surf instructor
Simone Gandola brings to FuerteVida Parkinson No Limits an unbreakable bond with the sea and solid international experience in surf coaching and adapted aquatic activities. His approach combines a deep passion for the ocean with a firm commitment to using water as a space for well-being, safety, and inclusion for people with Parkinson’s and other functional diversities.
Water is, without a doubt, his natural element. As he himself states, he “lives in the water,” as it is where he truly feels in his element. After growing up playing and competing in water polo, the sport served as a bridge for him to discover his great passion for surfing. Deeply fascinated by different cultures and languages, his love for waves led him to travel and connect with countries all over the world, such as Australia, Indonesia, Peru, Morocco, France, Portugal, Spain, and even the modern wave pools of England and Switzerland. This extensive journey drove him to study the oceans to develop a profound understanding of the marine environment. Despite his traveling spirit, Simone chose to settle in Fuerteventura because, out of all the places he has been, it is the one he has decided to call home.
During his years living in Australia, he consolidated his technical coaching profile. There, he obtained his Level 2 Surf Coach qualification, awarded by Surfing Australia in Torquay, Victoria—one of the world’s leading hubs for the sport—and backed by the International Surfing Association (ISA).
Within FuerteVida Parkinson No Limits, Simone coordinates and guides the sea sessions. His work focuses on adapting the immense physical benefits of movement in the water and surf therapy to the capabilities and needs of each user, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and deeply regenerating environment.
