At FuerteVida Parkinson No Limits, our commitment has always been to provide the best possible support to people with Parkinson’s and their families in Fuerteventura. However, we know that a job well done must be accompanied by honesty, clarity, and good management practices. Today, we are proud to announce that our efforts have been recognized at the highest institutional level.
Our association has been awarded the Premio de Excelencia a la Transparencia Digital en Canarias 2024 (Excellence Award for Digital Transparency in the Canary Islands 2024), an accolade that recognizes our firm commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen access to public information.
A Maximum Score Achievement: 10 out of 10
During the award ceremony, the excellent degree of dissemination of informative content on the transparency portals of the awarded entities was acknowledged. This degree of dissemination was verified through the evaluation of the Canary Islands Transparency Index (IT Canarias 2024).
It is an honor for us to share that we have obtained the highest possible score: 10 points. Hearing our name, “Asociación Fuerte Vida, Parkinson No Limits”, during the presentation of the diplomas made us feel that the daily effort of our entire team was rewarded.
To understand the magnitude of this recognition within the Canary Islands, the data from this edition speaks for itself:
- More than a thousand entities were called for the evaluation in 2024.
- Out of the almost 800 entities that presented themselves, only 116 achieved excellence.
- Among private entities, 297 obtained an outstanding rating, and of those, only 116 achieved the perfect score of 10.
Transparency: A Tool at the Service of the People
As highlighted during the ceremony, true digital excellence is not measured solely by the technology developed. Rather, it is measured by the ability to use it as a tool at the service of closer, more transparent, and human communication.
At FuerteVida Parkinson No Limits, we fully share the vision that informing well is not just a good practice, but a responsibility and a guarantee of the citizens’ right to receive useful and reliable information.
Achieving excellence in digital transparency requires planning, dedication, effort, and constant review. We firmly believe that:
- Explaining who we are, what we do, and how we manage our resources reinforces the legitimacy of our work.
- Sharing quality information is an integral part of responsible management.
- Transparency is not an administrative burden, but an opportunity to improve management and strengthen the relationship with citizens.

This diploma does not merely reward compliance with an obligation, but a way of understanding management based on responsibility, clarity, and respect for society.
From our headquarters in Fuerteventura, we want to thank the Comisionado de Transparencia y Acceso a la Información Pública de Canarias for this recognition, as well as all our volunteers, families, and collaborators. This 10 out of 10 belongs to everyone. We will continue working with the same honesty and dedication to improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s in the Canary Islands.
