To celebrate the European Week of Sport, we experienced an unforgettable morning full of energy, ocean waves, and inclusion. It wasn’t just an event; it was a true community celebration where barriers gave way to fun and togetherness.
Our goal, strongly supported by the institutions that sponsored the initiative—the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Deportes Cabildo de Fuerteventura, and the Ayuntamiento de Antigua—is ambitious yet essential: to ensure that mornings like this are not the exception, but become the wonderful normality of our daily lives. This is our commitment.
An ocean of activities: Beyond every limit 🚀
The energy on the beach was palpable, thanks to a sports lineup that allowed everyone to get involved, have fun, and push their boundaries. Here is what we experienced together:
- 🥊 Boxing and Surfing: With our professional instructors and the incredible energy of the KiteSurf instructors from the Siel school.
- 🎯 Archery and Bola Canaria: Precision, focus, and local tradition together with Malpaisomys Fuerteventura and the C.D. Los Cacharros De Antigua club.
- 🧑🦽 Barrier-free exploration: Thanks to the Joelette chair provided by Senderos sin barreras, we proved that nature and movement can truly be accessible to all.
- ⚽ Football and Paddle Surf: Pure fun between the water and the sand with the invaluable support of Innsurff Canarias.
- 🎶 Music Therapy: A special moment to make body and mind vibrate to the right rhythm, guided by our music therapist.
An unbeatable team: Thank you! ❤️
An event of this magnitude only comes to life when a community joins forces with empathy and dedication. Our deepest gratitude goes to everyone who made this reality:
- The Team and Volunteers: A huge thank you to our social worker, an invaluable pillar in organizing the day, and to all the volunteers who supported the participants with extraordinary empathy. A special round of applause to the 26 nursing students from the University, who brought a wave of contagious enthusiasm, and to the amazing Álvaro, a brave and professional assistant surf instructor. Thanks also to the photographers who captured these unforgettable moments.
- Associations and Centers: Thank you for your presence, help, and trust to the De Amicitia association, Creciendo de Lanzarote (who accompanied the wonderful students of the Enclave classroom), Adivia Fuerteventura, ASOMASAMEN, and all the day and residential centers for people with disabilities in Fuerteventura.
- Institutions: A heartfelt thank you to the Councilor for Beaches and the Councilor for Accessibility of the Antigua City Council, and the Councilor for Accessibility of the Cabildo, for coming down to the beach with us, supporting us, and getting personally involved.
- Partners: Thanks to HiperDino through the Fundación DinoSol for recharging our energy by donating water and fresh fruit to all participants.
Together to make a difference 🌍
