Parkinson No Limit

Save the date in your calendar: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7th from 9:30 to 15:00 in Puerto del Rosario, Island Youth Center, Cabildo of Fuerteventura.

A training and participation day open to everyone on the topic: physical and sports activities for older adults and people with functional diversity.

The experience gained by the Association at both local and international levels, along with numerous research studies, demonstrates that physical activity and sport positively influence people’s quality of life and their health potential.

This training day, beyond highlighting and summarizing this scientific evidence, aims to be a space for dialogue, exchange, and constructive educational discussion, in which people with functional diversity and older adults are the true protagonists, supported by the professionals who accompany them in their daily physical and sports practices, giving them the opportunity to share and testify about their experiences.

When training is a dynamic, practical, and empathetic process, it becomes highly valuable! “Through learning, we regenerate. Through learning, we become capable of doing something we have never been able to do. Through learning, we come to perceive the world and our relationship with it differently. Through learning, we expand our capacity to create and to be part of the generative process of life.” Peter Senge (Lebanese writer and philosopher).

At the end of the talks and round tables, some good practices of adapted sports will be presented in the square in front of the Island Youth Center, led by the professionals who participated in the first part of the day.

Among the speakers are:

  •  Dr. Nicola Modugno, neurologist expert in sports and neurological movement disorders;
  • Dr. Silvia Della Morte, clinical psychotherapist, former athlete and roller skating coach, expert in Mindfulness and sports;
  • Dr. Francesca De Bartolomeis, Psychomotricist and creator of the rehabilitation and well-being program of the Parkinson No Limits association, expert in adapted sports;
