Parkinson No Limit

On Tuesday, March 2nd at 5:00 PM (Spain time) / 4:00 PM (Canary Islands), Maylen—a pastry chef and cake designer—will join us for a creative workshop dedicated to fun, passion, creativity and sharing.

“My passion began in 2005 when I started learning creative pastry (cake design) in Barcelona.
In 2008, I graduated from the pastry school in Bologna.
I later taught at PM Pastry School in Bologna and also specialized in airbrushing techniques for artistic cakes.”

When speaking about herself, Maylen immediately focuses on one key word: PASSION. And our invitation to you is just as powerful: LOVE YOURSELF.

Our psychomotricists Francesca and Maylen have designed a true experiential journey in the kitchen, where food meets traditions, cultures and creativity. Cooking becomes a pleasure—a way to take care of yourself and others through dishes prepared with passion, awareness and respect for the body’s needs and seasonal ingredients.
In collaboration with a nutritionist, dietary needs related to Parkinson’s are also carefully considered.

Using high-quality, healthy ingredients, this activity aims to stimulate and enhance:

  • creativity;
  • the five senses;
  • fine motor skills;
  • praxis (motor planning skills);
  • coordination;
  • executive and cognitive skills;
  • knowledge of food for a healthy, enjoyable and balanced diet;
  • the pleasure of sharing and enjoying food;
  • self-satisfaction and self-esteem.

During this session, Maylen will teach us how to prepare a delicious steamed bread, decorated in a fun and creative way using natural food colorings (such as cocoa, berries, saffron and turmeric).
