In 2025, we launch the program “Well-being Through Movement”, a health promotion, prevention, and social well-being project born from the urgent need to offer inclusive spaces and adapted activities in our community.
Led by the Fuerte Vida Parkinson No Limits Association, this project adopts a holistic and interdisciplinary approach: we do not focus solely on the pathology, but consider the person as a whole, valuing their abilities, emotions, and social environment.
Activities
We offer a variety of activities and workshops designed to improve quality of life and enhance people’s health potential. The program includes:
- Physical Activities: Psychomotricity, adapted boxing, adapted surf/SUP, adapted hiking, “boat therapy” and Soft Pilates.
- Creative and Manual Therapies: Art therapy, traditional clay work, music therapy, and water painting.
- Well-being and Health: Osteopathy, Shiatsu treatments, Mindfulness, and psychological support (individual and group).
- Daily Life Workshops: Creative cooking, pizza-making, and horticultural therapy (garden therapy) to promote healthy eating and connection with nature.
- Socialization: Bola Canaria activities and group gatherings to encourage social inclusion
Benefits
Through these activities, we aim to achieve concrete goals for participants’ well-being:
- Physical Health: Increased mobility, flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination; reduction of chronic pain and stiffness.
- Mental and Emotional Health: Significant reduction of stress and anxiety; improved emotional stability through psychological support and creative therapies.
- Quality of Life: Greater autonomy, self-esteem, and social inclusion, reducing the isolation often associated with chronic conditions.
