We live in an era where science increasingly recognizes the therapeutic value of movement. For people with Parkinson’s disease<\/strong> or other conditions, physical activity is not just a pastime, but an essential tool for managing symptoms and improving the quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are proud to announce that our association has received the valuable support of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura (Consejer\u00eda de Deportes)<\/strong> for the years 2026 and 2027. This contribution allows us to provide solid continuity to our commitment, which began in 2019, guaranteeing backing throughout 2027. Thanks to this multi-year grant, our physical and sports activity program called “Deporte para tod@s”<\/strong> is becoming an increasingly established reality available to the community. In the period from October 2025 to the end of September 2026, around 300 residents of Fuerteventura<\/strong> participated in this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Facing Parkinson’s, and any other illness, requires a multidimensional approach that focuses on the person, not just the pathology. The same applies to people who do not have any pathology but deeply care about their health. Our mission in Fuerteventura<\/strong> is to offer preventive and holistic rehabilitation<\/strong> wellness pathways that encompass the complete psychophysical well-being of the individual and their family support network. The programs promoted by “Deporte para tod@s” are specifically designed to foster a healthy lifestyle, active aging<\/strong>, and promote sports practice for people with functional diversity, eliminating any obstacles to their full integration. Integrating physical exercise and complementary therapies into a weekly routine leads to concrete and tangible improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Practicing sports in a group, outdoors in a natural and stimulating environment, eliminates isolation and creates a vital support network. Traditional Canarian sports<\/strong>, such as Bola Canaria<\/em> (Canarian boules) and Garote<\/em>, are an excellent tool for fostering a highly valuable cultural and generational exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thanks to this project we have carried out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The “Deporte para tod@s” project aligns perfectly with the guidelines of the Canarian Physical Activity Law<\/strong>, which aims to protect specially vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We deeply thank the Excmo. Cabildo Insular de Fuerteventura<\/strong> through the Programa de Ayuda al Deporte Insular<\/em> for this funding (Multi-year Call 2026-2027). This allows us to structure our activities with a long-term vision, ensuring safe spaces and trained instructors.
