This disease affects individuals and their families on multiple levels, with symptoms that do not always receive as much attention, particularly regarding mental health, and which in many cases impact daily life just as much as the more well-known symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the most common mental symptoms in people with Parkinson\u2019s are: depression (with effects such as low psychophysical energy, apathy, pessimistic hopelessness), sleep disorders, anxiety, panic, insomnia, dementia, gambling addiction, compulsive shopping, sex addiction, persecutory delusions, hallucinations, compulsive eating, fears, obsessions, and manias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On October 10th, the first Mental Health Fair in Fuerteventura will take place in Puerto del Rosario. One of the main objectives of this initiative is to raise awareness and mobilize the population around mental health issues, helping to eliminate the stigma that still surrounds people living with these conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
